Emgo Dunstall Replica Wide Mouth Muffler - part# 80-84050
Installed this 27" long muffler today. It has removable, repackable baffle which is nice, this is NOT the open pipe, it has restrictions inside, not too loud, but much more pronounced than our OEM muffler. The fiberglass baffle pack, is not so good, everyone replaces it with better, denser repacking and the sound comes out completely different! I bought fiberglass mats on Amazon, but haven't replaced the OEM yet. Will do it later.
I was worry about fitment, but took a chance and it worked out great. The only problem was you need to locate the chrome mounting articulated arm behind the muffler, out of plain view, I'll need to fabricate longer metal strip and zig-zag it the way it will come from behind the muffler and mates to CTX bracket which normally holds the muffler... The included mounting arm was too short, so I used longer strips I found laying around. I bolted the chrome OEM arm on top of longer strips, just for better look...
I'll worry about look later, I know it doesn't look right with mounting strips exposed, but for now it's OK. Fill fix it later.
Here are some photos and VIDEO for sound sample. In Video Sample-1 you can see packing material flying out of exhaust, cheap, needs to be replaced. $8 new fiberglass mats will do the trick.
