I'm looking into potentially purchasing a Corbin seat and would love to hear from those that already own (or have owned) one. I currently have a Seth Laam-modified seat and, although I'm relatively happy with it, I wonder if I could do better. The Seth Laam is much more comfortable than the stock seat and I can ride much longer on it before having to take a "butt break". It is, however, still relatively firm and something a bit more cushiony would be nice. Also, I'm not able to fully put both feet down on the pavement when stopped. It's close, but unless I scoot up close to the tank, I can't be flat footed with both feet. I'm somewhere between 5'10" and 5'11" and have a 32" inseam. So, regarding Corbin seats, I guess I'd consider the low version. Does anyone have any thoughts about that? As far as I know, Seth did not alter the height of my current seat.

i had the corbin standard seat and could still flat foot with a 30 inch inseam. i found the seat contour to be perfect allowing fulltank interval and 500 mile days very doable. the seat is firm but the bolster position perfect to support my back during the most jarring bumps.
all the best of what i can no longer do since my stroke.

I have a Corbin standard seat, and I don't think I'd describe it as "cushiony". It moved me up and away from the tank, which was what I wanted. It's firm, and breaks in to fit your butt contour. I think I'd try and Air Hawk or similar cushion first, before you spent big bucks on another seat. That may be all you need. Good luck.

The Corbin name is virtually synonymous with the word Firm.

I second the Professor's suggestion, above.

I tried diligently to break in the Corbin that came with my current ride, but eventually I got tired of the ache and added an AirHawk. Should have done it sooner.

Corbin LOW but I also use an Airhawk on ALL my bikes. With the Low and the Airhawk, I've done 750 miles days.
I use an Air Hawk also cuz as we get older, our butts seem to disappear! I like your exhaust too! Can I ask what make it is and what it cost? I put a cheap shorty on mine.It is louder, but does not sound good. The OEM exhaust looks like a kitchen appliance1

My experience with Corbin seats are they are well made but quite firm regardless of break-in time. Some riders like this ... some don't. Also, after sales service is terrible from my own personal experience. I felt abandoned when trying to get a response from them regarding buying some additional bits.

As mentioned elsewhere (and often), I had both variations of the Corbin on my now long-gone CTX trike. Hang on to your "relatively firm" Laam inasmuch as if you go with either Corbin, you will think that the seat was treated with Viagra!

I bought a 1018 CTX with a Corbin on it. I’m 5’-10” tall with 32-33” sleeve length. I could not use the backrest as it was much too far back. I added 2” bar extenders and still couldn’t reach the bars. The seat must have been made for an orangutan! The moral of the story is, there’s more involved than just seat height. And yes, Corbins are FIRM but in the long run that’s good for me.
