Sorry, but there is no vaccine yet. Pfizer has announced some interim results.... interim. Still undergoing stage 3 tests with nothing finalized yet. Pfizer and BioNTech Announce Vaccine Candidate Against COVID-19 Achieved Success in First Interim Analysis from Phase 3 Study | Pfizer

They still have to complete the test, then do further analysis with the FDA. Results published in peer reviewed journal for review before things move forward.

“The first interim analysis of our global Phase 3 study provides evidence that a vaccine may effectively prevent COVID-19 Many people have criticized this as science by press release rather than formal study.

The information contained in this release is as of November 9, 2020. Pfizer assumes no obligation to update forward-looking statements contained in this release as the result of new information or future events or developments. Pfizer is competing with lots of other drug companies to come up with the first viable vaccine. Being the first means they take the lead in selling up to 1.3 BILLION vaccines (at what price? $2 per dose?, $5, $74 or more???).

Development continues, but this press release does not get us any closer to a viable vaccine. Primary commentators are still saying that IF a vacine is determined to be effective, it still won't be widely available before April 2021.

We still have a long way to go before things are under control. From what I have heard, it will likely be some time next summer or fall before any potential vaccine is likley to have an effect. Remember, despite our governments giving billions of dollars to various multiple drug companies, the vaccine will have to be distributed worldwide before things can really open up.
Phil, 100% chance this drug works and is approved. There is no way in hell Pfizer is making a forward-looking statement that influences its stock price without some inside information that it's a go. CEO sold $5M of his stock on the rise...1.8 million delta between Friday and Monday sale...that's prison time if this drug does not get approved. They are not updating guidance which is status quo for big pharma. Trust me on this 100% that it is a sure thing likely before Xmas.

I agree that they are close, but their own press release points out that they are not there yet. Personally, I hope about a dozen or more companies are able to get a workable vaccine at about the same time and sooner rather than later. It will still take months to make the vaccines in numbers, get it distibuted and into people.

Two good things. one, because of all the other preventive measures, we seem to be following the Aussies and may have a lot less flu and colds (less snotty nosed kids drooling and hacking all over the place..). Second, we had an impressive Remembrance Day ceremony today. My Scottish heritage was feeling pretty good when the piper played.
starts just after 1:01 and a bit. The area was deserted: people were asked to stay away and mostly they did, watching on tv. I often go to the National Cenotaph for the ceremony. It is typically about 2-3C, damp, windy and wet. It makes people uncomfortable for the short while they are there, but gets some thinking of the WW1 vets who lived in trenches for month, never getting dry, wet, dirty and surrounded by rats and death. Never forget,.. we need to remember more than just once a year.

I watch Fox News and most of our local Canadian stations. I am starting to believe this whole pandemic is being used to dumb down the people and turn us into a socialist population world wide. Fox makes some great reporting and what they have been saying seems to be turning out to be true. Our stations are mostly Liberal owned, and have me convinced that the Liberal agenda is to take away the power of the people. I hope in the US the courts do their job and the elction results turn out to be a scam put forward by the Democrats. Sorry Liberals, that is just my opinion. If Trump does not succeed maybe he could join the refugees coming in to Canada. He could vote here and maybe in our next election he could be our Prime Minister. He has my vote. Last week I read a piece by our head Government Doctor. We had about 10000 deaths at the time. She said that 80%of the deaths were in Nursing Homes. We probably have nearly that every year from Flues and old age. According to my figures that would mean 8000 elderly people died and most would have passed without covid

That would leave 2000 deaths out of 37 million people. The numbers just don't add up to me to say that this is the end of the world if we dont shut down our country. We have away more people killed in car accidents every year and I have never heard our Prime Minister mention that we should not drive. I think we as people in both countries should question what the real agenda is. I'm glad I am as old as I am. I feel sorry for the youth in the future. Good times are behind us.

I have said this and no one agreed with me until now. So thanks.
Question - who is behind this, what money is behind the scare tactic?????
I have looked at the infected rate and the deaths for our state MN, and the state next to us Wisconsin, and percentage wise the death rate has remained about the same from March to now. It about 1-2% death rate.
So what is the end game of being so freaking scared of this covid?

Exactly that, What is the endgame of promoting continued fear? They are running out of people to blame for the continued spread. Perhaps the methodology being used is not really working?

I'm not understanding the relationship you are drawing between irregularities and Sates running thier own elections. The lack of centralized governance can create just as many problems as it solves. I do think there is some prima facie evidence that requires investigation (e.g. software issues, equal protection clause, etc.). Again, I don't believe the outcome will be changed but if something was illegal or administratively improper it needs to be addressed and remediated.

Not directed at you but at Biden...resolving political rifts? How? He and his party berated, belittled, shamed, cancelled, and dismissed almost every constituent represented by leaders on the other side of the aisle. Biden and his party demonstrated an unprecedented lack of cooperation over the last 12 years...getting progressively further apart. There is zero argument to the contrary on that point. The populous is the only body of people who can settle the divide. Politicians are presently incapable of achieving that end.

The concession speech...neither you nor I can recall that absence because I don't think it ever occurred in our lifetimes. That said, it is customary not a constitutional requirement. Trump seems to believe that the decisions of the courts may influence the outcomes. I don't. I can understand his reluctance to concede. I'[m betting we never hear one, which I think would be classless considering the custom. I am old enough to remember Gore retracting his concession to Bush.
I am not sure where any of this is going. As you say the division is now even greater. You don't call Trump supporters "Garbage" and then say they are great Americans also. You don't hold the government hostage for 4 years, allowing the country to suffer and expect a unification. Sadly people have unusually short memories, which is what I think they are hoping for. Maybe I am pessimistic but I don't see a very good situation in the future. How the people will correct this situation, I have no idea. Of note the Nazi party was the people's socialist party, before they went to the extreme left. A left that the democrats seem to be embracing more and more.

Athena: the name of Hitler's party was the National Socialist German Workers Party. it never was a "socialist" party. It was on the far right of the political spectrum, not on the left (that position was occupied by the communist, a group the nazis hated). here is are some links with more info in you are interested. 1) Weimar Political Parties 2) The Nazis were not socialists 3) Were the Nazis Socialists? Historically, the top book on Hitler and nazis is The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich: A study of Nazi Germany by William Shirer. Finally, an interesting comment piece. A cautionary tale come November
Finally, here is a link to some of Shirer's quotes. It is amazing how applicable many of them seem with regards to current day "communication" and lies, distortions and fabrications of a government. William L. Shirer Quotes (Author of The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich)

The extremes on either side are NO GOOD - period!
They were radical, enough said.
