So the riding season is upon us, in NY anyway since the temps are going up. Noticed my rear tire is way more run down than I remember and I want to finally get a new tire, replacing the one that it came from the dealership with. Any recommendations? And I should replace both at the same time

I use the bike on paved roads. 35 minute commute to work each day, on highways and city streets.
Thank you in advance

Michelin Road is fantastic in all conditions. If tires are original, you might want to consider changing both.

The stock Metzeler Z8’s might just be the worst tires I have ever owned. I would buy a matched set of something else. I replaced mine early on with Michelin Road 5’s, which are wonderful but I’m sure there are other fine choices. High-end tires like the Roads and Roadsmarts tend to have dual tread compounds which improve longevity (but cost more to replace if you ruin one).

Having been through at least 100 tires over the years and trying most of the major brands, I've become a big fan of Shinkos. They wear well and their wet adhesion is tough to beat. Tough to beat their price too. Also, if you do decide to change brands, I'd replace the front tire at the same time to match.

This too has been my experience.

I love my Michelin 5s...I have driven in snow, hail and rain and you can actually feel them gripping the road. Worth every penny.
