My Honda Dealer recommended a spray wax for the painted surfaces on the bike, but he was unclear as to which one's were best.
Does anyone have any recommendations for cleaners and waxes -- especially for the polycarbonate windscreen?

Don't know what your dealer recommended but I and many of my fellow riders use this. Introducing Plexus Plastic Cleaner

We use this on all painted surfaces and the windscreen. Use with a microfiber cloth.

Lemon Pledge leaves a great shine. Honda Polish is good stuff as well as Plexus. I like anything Adams or Mothers California Golf. For quick cleaning the spray is easiest. I have also heard good things about Crystal Glo:

try some of the Honda spray cleaner/polish....excellent stuff, and you can use it on everything.

I use this routinely. Easy on, easy wipe. 5-10 Minutes. Link is just to show you the product; you can get it practically anywhere. For us NDT owners [black only available color], I highly recommend it.

Effem Tee you are just a wealth of knowledge and wisdom.
I don't have a large sample size using these products on the CTX, but they are simple to apply and look great. No white streaks or buffing hassle necessary. The plastic restorer has a nice finish, but not too glossy.

Amazon:$7.99

$8.00 (although this seems to have changes prices)

Also, Costco has a great deal on microfiber towels (Kirkland Signature).

Been using Plexus with great results on the windscreen for years, but after a multi day ride when your wind screen is a total mess with dried bugs splatters, try this. Soak an old t-shirt with hot tap water and lay it over the wind screen for three minutes. Gently wipe with wet t-shirt and dry. Next use the Plexus. Quick, cheap and easy : )

So do you ever use soap and water? Or... Soap and water then the spray wax
soap and water, then wax. Dry with a chamois. wax with soft cloth.
Can use mothers "plastic polish"

If you use regular wax on some of the platic they get hazy white.
Consider using mothers plastic polish on those items
If you drench , then dry out

If you drench your bike with the hose, suggest running bike to burn off the water and dry out the radiator and rest of the nooks and cranies.
So far just wiping down with wet clothes has been working just fine.
Normally i use a little dish soap if engine gets grimey as the bike ages. Not there yet on this one.
I have been using and loving Turtle Wax & Dry. It's fast, and smear free. It also does a nice job of getting bugs off the bike. (available at Walmart)

Off course I always carry Pledge in my saddlebag when I need to give my bike a sponge bath while I'm on the road.
I just washed mine, using rain x car wash and water, then after drying a good spraying of Honda Pro cleaner/wax, let this set for a few minutes, followed by SC1 High Gloss clear coat, smells like cherries, drove around and loved seeing a mirror reflection on the tank.
Help! What do you use on the matte black areas, I used a wax for plastic, on the shiny black it looks great, but on the matte black it looks dull and cloudy, makes my bike look like its old and looks ugly.

Dragonfly; I use 'original bike spirits spray cleaner and polish' I also was concerned with the matte black, it does not cost much and most Honda dealers have it in stock, the dealers down here swear by it, I have been using it for several months and it makes the bike shine like new and makes the matte finish look so clean without the high gloss effect on the matte, I use a microfiber cloth after I spray to buff it in and once I do the entire bike I get a clean microfiber cloth to buff it out, whatever u do don't put it on your helmet lens though, I did and went riding a few hours later and my eyes were on fire, for the helmet exterior {the shinny ones} it cleans and shines like new,the review's for this product are great, , it is a pink and black can, hope this helps with your decision.
I use Back To Black on the matte areas. Do not use wax. It will haze and become very difficult to get off.
I use Mothers or McGuires or for a quick shine just use pledge. I first dry it off with my shop vac with the hose reversed. Gets all the water out of the tight places. Back to Black does a good job on the black parts.
