I bought one and mounted it on the back of my sissy bar. Works just as good that way as on your helmet.

This past Saturday, I went on a 200-mile trip on my CTX. I rode on rural, suburban, city, and mountain roads (everything except dirt!). I rode in daytime and night-time as well on all these different roads. As dusk came, I thought my headlamp was dimmer than usual. When full night came on, I realized the headlamp was burned out. 😳 Fortunately, the high beam worked, so I rode home on high beam. I can say this for sure – everyone saw me coming! 😁

Your post about the brake free helmet light made me think… what if the bulb(s) in my brake light burned out? I would never know it! Your post, then, was most timely. Thx!

When I've added extra brake lights to my bikes, I always make sure to wire them in parallel to make sure one going out won't knock out the others(s) for that very reason. Even doing a T-CLOCS check before every ride, I've had a brake light go out mid-ride and I didn't know it for a while.

 

I don't remember if I posted this before or not. I made a video in January where I talk about mods that I installed. It includes a demo of the Brake Free, SupaBrake flasher for the rear, and auxiliary lights on the front. Nothing very special but it could be helpful.
