It in theory would increase the risk of digging in or acting as a lever at the worst possible time.

A lot of the thin tin models I've seen on the net would most likely just buckle.

Hello fellow riders!
A week ago or so,someone posted pictures of how they had modified the peg spring to be more easily installed. Now the thread seems to be gone or taken down. If you are that rider,please post again! I received the mini peg boards and put them on front for now,but still have the 8" ones. I can always move the minis to the passenger if needed. The minis do not fold at all,so I need the pivots to function after I modify the springs. Thanks for your help!!

If you don’t get a response I was able to put my boards on without any modification to the springs. It’s been a while but I think I remember it was the same as in this video at the 5:48 minute mark.

This video was helpful for my install. I did modify one of the springs slightly and ended up keeping the mini boards and sent the 8" ones back.Pretty happy with the end product. Thanks again!
