Let’s Talk About Helmet Shell Materials and Construction – Article from Our Author

What makes a motorcycle helmet safe? How the construction and materials used to produce the shell affect the quality and protective properties of a typical helmet? All these and other related questions will be answered in the article by one of our resident technical experts Michael Grayen. Click on the link below to learn more about the variety of materials and choices available to riders who want to achieve ultimate protection and comfort in their specific riding applications.

Everybody knows that a good motorcycle helmet shell must protect the rider’s head from severe injuries in case of a crash by dispersing the energy of impact over a larger surface area without cracking or breaking. Since most modern helmets use the Styrofoam as an energy-absorbing mid-layer as well as soft inner liners and padding for comfort, it is the shell that became the main focus of an article.

What Material Choices Are There in Motorcycle Helmet Construction?

Some of the helmets featured in the article as examples:

NEXX Helmets® - X.G100R Motordrome Full Face Helmet - MOTORCYCLEiD.com

X-Lite® - X-803 Nuance Ultra Carbon Full Face Helmet - MOTORCYCLEiD.com

Cyber Helmets® - US-39 Solid Full Face Helmet - MOTORCYCLEiD.com

Its kind of like cable TV.
First you paid for the service and the channels did not have ads.
Now you pay for the service and the channels have more ads than broadcast TV!

So now we have ads on a free website.
Is this the future??
I DON'T LIKE IT!!!

Sorry if the thread title misled you, but there is no such thing as a free website. For site owners that is.
Ads and sponsorships are needed to keep the site going.
As for the user experience, the advertisements you see on the forum are easily avoidable.

Looking at the vendor ads (and sometimes clicking through to the vendors page) helps support this free-to-me site and costs me nothing. Also, every so often I learn something new about this hobby.
