One for Honda

My next bike came home today, a brand new, literally 0 miles, 2017 Honda CBR1000RR ABS. I have had 5 track days this year, and I’m hooked. Like rebel’s purchase, the red tag sale of $9900 was very difficult to pass, almost 7K off.

This will be no. 4 in the stable, and wife will be for a surprise returning from work this morning.

I can tell fun will be had on it, midlife crisis is certainly being going on.

True conversation with wife last night:

W. Ok, what are you getting rid off here?
Me. The refrigerator
W. Ok, I walked right into that.

I would have ditched the stove, it can't cool beverages.

Sorry, but the Honda SS/RR line is the worst one out there! Even with the beautiful matte black and red finish which is a beautiful combination BTW on most rides, with the Honda badging and its general looks here, it just has no appeal to me!

Do yourself a favor, ditch the reflectors....

Congrats on the new bike-great bike and a great deal. I don't have a critical eye for the small things, but maybe you could replace the reflectors with some small working LED lights. Its still a WOW bike.

As of yesterday, no reflectors, and no HUGE rear tail. Got a very minimalistic tail tidy for 35 bucks on Amazon. ****, brand name tail tidies are insanely priced in the $150 for a piece of metal. No issues with the cheap one I got, fit the bike nicely, and it is tiny.

I will disagree with you Rebel. I’m not one liking black, AT ALL. I might have be riding a ZX6R or ZX10R now IF the dealer had them in anything else but black. It looks awful. But this Honda scheme surprisingly blew me away, besides the sales price. The rear hugger and those red patches in the subframe under the seat were done by me in red CF wrap.

I'm not looking at anything like this yet, but I guarantee you this: When I do, I don't care what color you or I like. It will be the one that feels best to me and performs best on the track.

Y'all may laugh at my ugly tail-lights all you wish, won't bother me 'tall. An' then we'll be kind 'nuff to pull away so's they won't bother you fur long nuther.
