Custom made CTX700 heel shift kits

Now that everything has settled down in the development/production saga, I'm posting the availability of the heel shifter kit here in its proper place. The full cost for US based shipments is still $59 and the Canadian delivered price is $66.00 (USD). There are 16 units remaining and when they are gone, they are gone.

Get em while you can folks. Can't wait till I have the floorboards on and do the shifter. The R and D is well worth the price.

Dan ( @Devilsfan ) came over got his final production version of the shifter. Rainy weather has finally returned to the area, so I don't think he'll be giving a road use report for a few days.

One thing I noticed this morning was that I lost the nylock nut holding the shifter arm on to the stock toe lever base. So just to be sure I put a drop of green thread locker on the new one I put on Dan's.

The other thing was that I installed a set of the small Kuryakyn floor boards on my bike. The small length is 5.7" vs. 8.5" for the large ones I had on before. I wanted to confirm that they could be used with the shifters -- clearly they can. And in fact, I liked them enough to leave them in place (as least for now).

There's no change to how/where the tupperware gets cutouts and the rear pedal position can remain the same. I'll give you some road testing results in the near future.

JSYK, there are still more than a dozen of the shifters on the shelf, ready to go.

Not wanting to hijack anything, I moved these posts over from another thread so I could share the following: I made some adjustments to my personal installation that I thought I'd post for future reference. I moved the front toe lever way down with just enough space for me to slip my foot under in case I'd ever need to. That changed the angle of the heel shifter which was positioned and drilled for a more "standard" installation. I also am testing out a set of small, 5.7" Kuryakyn floorboards. I rather like them and may just keep them for the long haul.

I took the path of least resistance and notched the heel lever to bring it into the position I wanted rather than doing a bunch of welding and drilling. I'm also running without any rear peg finding that I prefer just a slight lift & a twist of my foot to engage the lever. The lever has a stout powder coating and should hold up just fine in the long run.

Okay at the suggestion of our friend @nick13, I'm bumping the thread that has all the information you need to know about my custom CTX heel shifter add-on. Check it out of you have a 6 speed manual. I designed and built it for myself and I'm glad I did.

As of right now, 10 units remain. So, look over this thread for all the details.

A few years ago I had Honda VTX1300C. After I installed floorboards, I realized the hill/toe shifter was a must have add-on. So I installed the shifter from VTX1300R. HUGE relief! What a difference. Was very happy with that mod.

I think if anyone thinking about floorboards, it should go in pair with hill shifter. Makes it into all different bike.

Fixing a broken video link

What with all the misery recently about broken links for pictures apparently over now (for me anyway), I came across an unrelated syntax error for my "Trim Tupperware" video that results in a dead end 404 error.

BTW, I still have 8 heel shifters left in case any newbies were unaware that there was such a thing. Well there is, for the next 8 folks who want one anyhow.

Exclamation A few heel shifters still available

It has been almost a year since I last mentioned them. But cleaning up the garage to fit in the new KIA that my kids leased for us, I came across the remaining stock of the custom CTX heel shifters I made. If you have a 6-speed and haven't seen these, read over this thread. I still have about 6 of these out there.

I love mine and for that reason alone, I'm glad I bothered to do it. Send me a PM if interested in getting one for yourself.
