Insurance

I live in Virginia. I have Progressive for my bike and I'm wondering who does everyone use for insurance. I'm trying to get a better deal.

My very first bike was a brand new 1957 Sears Moped. 49cc 2 stroke, 2hp, 2 speed trans. with clutch. I ordered it through the Sears catalog, and it was delivered to my house, crated up. Loved it.

Mine is also about $50 a year ( liability only ). I was surprised how much it was for collision etc..... you can almost buy a new bike in a few years if you get “the works”

I envy you guys. My insurance in Ontario is 644 for the year and we only get maybe 6 months to ride. That is for liability, fire and theft only. I feel fortunate at that price here because a lot are way over a thousand and if you have anything over 700 cc and have a couple of tickets it skyrockets especially for young people some into the thousands. Some just can't afford to ride.

Insurance varies TREMENDOUSLY by state and is state regulated. Even worse, they drill down to county/city and your address. You need to contact several carriers for your exact location. Here in FL Tampa is way higher than being10 miles away in burbs. Miami... well just forget about it! Farther you live from risk and their history of claims, cheaper you get it.

And yet, Progressive was 3 times (not a misprint!) what I'm paying Allstate for the exact same full coverages. May the Lord reward them according to their rates!!
