Bought him with 12 miles on the odometer. Completed one Iron Butt Saddle Sore 1000, 1 Iron Butt National Parks Tour, 1 Iron Butt Bronze Lighthouse Insanity and 2 seasons of the Tour of Honor. Need new one now to keep him company in garage.
Congratulations gijane42104. I just turned 51,000 miles on my CTX700 DCT. The CTX has been a real work horse for me. I use it as my primary source of transportation and also tour with it fairly often to visit family. I put a little over 3000 miles on my Accord last year and less than a 1500 on my truck.
Awesome.....I am hoping these will hold up similar to a Goldwing and get at least 150K out of. My arthritis has gotten so bad in left hand that I can't go back to a manual shifter.
I share your pain. I could never ride a bike as much as I do without the DCT. Its been a Godsend. I'll never go back to a manual because, frankly speaking, I wouldn't be able to enjoy riding.
Congrats! I'm at 14,000 after 10 months - but I was overseas for 4 of those, so averaging around 28K miles a year. She just runs and runs and runs!
Great to hear about high mileage CTXes like yours and JFCs, especially with the lack of reported issues. A tribute to Honda just nailing the reliability of this ride. Especially with a DCT!
Welcome GIJane! We have some riders here with bikes that are only two years old and have hit the 40k+ mileage. A testament to the rider and bikes themselves. A motorcycle that is fun and comfortable to live with tends to be ridden more often. Your Ironbutt rides are impressive! I have only managed two Saddlesore 1000's and appreciate what you have accomplished in a short two years. May your roads be clear and your sky blue!
My CTX700N is just for joy riding, but I look forward to a lot more of that in 2016! It's ready for some big trips now that I have the case and bags on her!
I always considered the CTX 700 a "her", not a "him". It is obvious why, the voluptuous curves! 45,000 miles in 2 years is uber impressive no matter the gender of the CTX!
Very, very impressive. Best wishes for many more memorable miles. Ride safe always.
